What a week! For most parents the return to school-term week is a face slap back into reality. No more pajamas at 10am and rolling paw patrol, now its up, dressed (sort of) and out to beat the school bell. Yesterday I got to the school playground; dressed (badly) but realised I hadn’t brushed my hair! Summing up the busiest start I have had to the New Year in a long time. 4 Shiny new Mini First Aid locations have opened this week, Leeds North, Harrogate & Wetherby (the lovely Claire) Devon, (the Super Hero Liz) Hull & East Riding (media celebrity Jodie) and finally South Leeds & Wakefield (Maria our newest secret weapon who has swopped theatre blues for First Aid) The week starts in Devon with a launch class in the English Riviera - Torquay, The class was great, the support for Liz’s new venture is fabulous. I was staying with lovely long term farming friends. Just about to retire to bed I was asked to “feed the lambs” yep, 11pm and this city girl is in overalls in a barn bottle-feeding the incredibly cute baby lambs. The travel back from the English Riviera was a cross-country motorway hike broken up with a brew with my Mum. Onwards to Yorkshire, the Hull launch is roaring success with a group of local Mums keen to try out the newest class to reach Hull and the East Riding and to finally to Leeds, ActivZone where more interested folk have turned out on a wet Saturday afternoon to be part of our launch event. The ladies involved this week are each brilliant, engaging individuals who are passionate about what they teach and I feel honoured that they are part of my team. Meanwhile my children, have settled back into week one, mourning the loss of the Christmas tree (why is it that a non-drop tree, that has faithfully not dropped a needle all Christmas drops 3 million needles on its final exit from the house?!) The children seem unaffected by the dark mornings and use the opportunity with a torch to look for bears (Mummy and Daddy trying to sleep-in) aha yes they’ve found them, and surprise surprise, are very grizzly having a torch thrust in our faces! Happy New Year folks, come and see us at one of our great new regions (and they’ll be more opening soon wink wink)
